Africa is no longer simply a subject of international policy. African states are increasingly shaping the diplomatic, economic, security and geopolitical choices that define the international system. Yet many of the debates about Africa’s future continue to be framed outside the continent. CPSS Africa exists to contribute rigorous African perspectives to those debates.

The Center for Policy and Strategic Studies — Africa (CPSS Africa) is a foreign policy and strategic affairs think tank dedicated to understanding the forces shaping Africa's place in the world. We conduct independent research, generate policy ideas, convene strategic dialogue, and provide evidence-based analysis on the geopolitical, economic, security and diplomatic issues affecting Africa and the international system. Our work connects African perspectives with global policy debates, helping governments, institutions, businesses, researchers, civil society and citizens better understand a rapidly changing world.
